communion of saints

I am the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys.
~Song of Solomon 2:1~

It’s raining outside and there are blooms outside my window.

I’ve been intrigued with this plant since the day we moved in–

something about the way she waits on the edge of the plain.

For whatever reason, in spite of all my wondering

I never once thought to ask Google about it.

But God knew all along.

He had a better way.

He always does.

“Oh look! That’s a Rose of Sharon outside there!”

Just about the time you find out the plumber isn’t coming

when half the camp’s water has been shut down for the weekend

God shows up.

He shows up with Rollan, Gerri, Gary, Marilyn–

He brings them all.

He remembers.

“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
~Isaiah 43:19~

  1. You know you will ALWAYS have friends at Trinity!! We’ll be up to visit when it is MUCH cooler, not tolerating the heat very well 😦 p.s. I also could have told you it was a Rose of Sharon 🙂

    • I’m glad you knew it too. That’s the best way to learn, I think. People you know and love passing on knowledge and wisdom to those they know and love. And you’re welcome to visit anytime. Fall is a great time to come and see camp!
