“And you have done worse than your fathers, for behold, each one follows the dictates of his own evil heart, so that no one listens to me.”
~Jeremiah 16:12, NKJV~
What Would Jesus Do? I ask the question like I’ve got to figure it out for myself, and thus, am left with even more questions. What would Jesus do? I can look in the Gospels and find lots of stories from the life of Jesus. But that was then. This is now. How in the world could I ever be certain what the Son of God might possibly do? I can only be sure of what He already did.
What Did Jesus Say? This is the new question. This is the question to guide all our days. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind, this is the the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. What the world needs now is not the openness to hear our neighbor, not first and foremost.
What did Jesus say? There’s only one way to the Father and there’s only one way to the freeing truth. “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing.”
