We’ve been looking forward to the first snowfall. I’ve never seen camp in the winter, and judging from the rest of the seasons here, no one expected anything less than beauty. We weren’t disappointed.
Hope doesn’t disappoint. That’s what God says. I’m sure every person who ever prays will come to question these words at some point. How many times did we hope for something that didn’t happen?
Our hope was misplaced, they’ll say. And they’ll be right, at least in part. We hoped in a God who’d spare us pain, write our papers, and give us everything we ever wanted. We wanted a bond-slave.
God wanted to set us free.
